“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10 )

One of the most powerful truths that we can use to combat doubting God is to pray. When you are in a mindset that is causing doubts about God’s presence, His plan, or His love, tell him you are doubting. Doubt puts your faith through a test, and you’ll come out stronger for it. As most of us know from experience, doubt isn’t a one-time occurrence. It’ll happen repeatedly throughout life, but that’s actually a good thing. Repeatedly occurring doubts help to freshen our faith.

Faith and doubt seem like one of those things that just can’t mix. Yet at the same time, almost everyone experiences some kind of doubt at some point in their faith journey. We should not deny or fear our doubt but express it. Having faith is having trust. You have to trust with your entire being that God has your back that he will help you and take care of you. He knows what is best, but to truly embrace what he has planned for you, you have to fully trust. Our trust is not foolish, for our God is both faithful and good.

Admitting your doubt isn’t a bad thing. God knows all about it anyway. Your belief in His power to heal might be clouded with worry, but by admitting it, you’re taking the first step in releasing everything to Him. Be honest with the Lord when you’re struggling to believe.
